Route 1 brought Panda (in her white Freeway 10s) and I to Morro Bay for a look around, a breath of fresh air, and an amazing lunch of oysters, fish tacos and grilled shrimp at Giovanni’s Fish Market on the waterfront.

The 154: the Chumash Highway. A spontaneous venture inland off the 101 took us to Lake Cachuma. Along the way we found, among other things, an incredible equestrian shop in Santa Ynez, vineyards in Los Olivos, and pancakes in Solvang.
