Last night’s launch event was fantastic–thanks to everyone who came by to check out the sunglasses and special thanks to Carlos, Matt and everyone at The Smile for making the evening possible. Pictures from the event are coming soon!
Whenever I fly into LAX I think about Peter Alexander’s incredible paintings that capture this very particular view of our landscape. Made in the late eighties/early ninties they perfectly describe that feeling of flight, the gridded-sprawl of twinkling lights, the stardust and the smog.
This one’s called Lawndale and was painted in 1988:
